Can I file a complaint against my tenants if I am a landlord with tenants who are creating zoning violations, or am I responsible to abate (correct) the violations?

Category: Zoning Issues
If you own a property and your tenant has created zoning violations, not only will the tenant be cited for the violations and required to abate them but so will you, the property owner. The abatement of any zoning violations is the responsibility of the party who has created the violation as well as the legal owner of the property where the violations are taking place. Anyone is allowed to submit a Zoning Complaint form. The form is reviewed by the Zoning Enforcement Officer who will determine if, in fact, the concerns raised in the form are zoning violations.
