Ledge Light Health District (LLHD) is the local health department for New London as well as East Lyme, Groton, Ledyard, and Waterford, Connecticut. From restaurant inspections to smoking cessation classes, the organization's mission is to prevent disease, illness and injury, to protect and nurture our environment, and to promote improved health and prosperity for all residents.
Collaboration is a cornerstone of LLHD's work – partnering with member municipalities, the Connecticut Department of Public Health, local school districts and numerous community agencies. Most importantly, LLHD develops their work through the feedback and involvement of the community residents they serve.
