10/30/2019 - Press Release from Mayor Passero's Office Regarding City Hall Elevator & Relocation of 11-4-19 City Council Mtg.

Currently the elevator at New London City Hall, 181 State Street has failed and will require replacement.  The device is more than 60 years old and has required significant maintenance over the past 10 years however, the current structural and operational deficiencies of the outdated elevator will require a complete replacement.  At this time replacement options are being evaluated.   

 

At present the City Clerk’s Office and the Judge of Probate Office on the 1st floor of City Hall is handicapped accessible.

 

Anyone requiring the services of the elevator to access the 2nd floor of City Hall in order to conduct business with Planning, Zoning and Community Development, & Economic Development should call 860-447-5203, or the Registrar of Voters at 860-447-5206.

 Those requiring the services of the elevator to access the 3rd floor of City Hall to the City Council’s Office 860-447-5202 or the Mayor’s Office, the Mayor, or Chief Administrative Officer at 860-447-5200.  Upon request, those requiring elevator service will be able to meet with city staff on the first floor to address concerns and provide city services.

 

The City Council Meeting scheduled for Monday, November 4th will be held at Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School Library, 36 Waller Street, New London, CT beginning at 7:00 p.m.
