Updated information from the CT Secretary of State's Office

“Notice was given by Secretary of the States office confirming our absentee ballot drop off box in front of city hall may be used to drop off your absentee ballot applications. Please ensure your application is signed and properly filled out before dropping off to ensure your ballot will be issued in October. Due to volume of applications, no resident will receive confirmation of receipt nor be notified an application was received. If there are any questions or concerns please contact City Clerk’s office (860) 447-5205”

Due to COVID, all registered voters in Connecticut will receive an absentee ballot application directly from the Secretary of the State’s office in the coming weeks. This decision was made by the State of Connecticut to facilitate the voting process and ensure residents remain safe while voting. Keep in mind, absentee ballot applications are not automatically sent out to voters by the local City Clerk office.

Completed applications must be sent to the City Clerk’s office

Completed applications will be processed in October.

(Absentee ballots by law cannot be issued until 30 days before election)

Applications can be obtained from multiple sources if a voter does not wish to wait to receive an application by mail.
