The City of New London is holding a Lead-Free Open House from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11th at the New London Senior Center, 120 Broad Street (rear), New London, CT to update the public on information about lead including the initiative to identify and replace lead service lines. The objective of this meeting is to introduce the City’s Lead Service Line Replacement Program, learn more about how to prevent lead exposure and keep families safe, learn where lead service lines exist throughout the City and what to expect during construction. People will be able to join in person or virtually to learn how they can participate and get their Lead Service Line Removed.

Water provided by the City of New London is lead-free when it leaves the treatment plant, but its
quality may change as the water flows through the water service lines and in-home plumbing and
fixtures that may contain lead.
The City has begun implementation of a comprehensive Lead Service Line Replacement (LSLR) Program,
which includes updating the City's current inventory of lead service lines and replacement of lead
lines with new copper lines.
The Open House will be held in person. There will be an option to also attend the presentation
