It is the primary mission of the New London Fire Department to provide a range of programs and services, designed to protect the lives and property of all inhabitants and visitors in the City of New London from the adverse effects of Fires, Sudden Medical Emergencies, Exposure to Hazardous Materials or Exposure to any other dangerous conditions, either natural or man-made.
The New London Fire Department provides 24 hour, 365-day emergency and non-emergency services to the citizens of the City. In addition to providing traditional fire suppression activities, the Fire Department provides Emergency Medical Services at the R-2 level (ambulance transport) as well as a full range of Fire Prevention services from Code Enforcement to Public Education. The Fire Department also has specific emergency and non-emergency responsibilities in the event of Radiological, Hazardous Materials and extreme weather emergencies.
