Road work to start Monday August 28 where fine grading of the Round-A-Bout will be performed on Monday and Tuesday, August 28 and August 29. Traffic will flow through one lane as work progresses. It is still advised for motor vehicles to find alternate routes around the construction area to avoid delays!
Wednesday August 30, A&J will perform the binder coat starting at Chester St. continuing through to Jefferson Ave. heading east, performing ½ of the Round-A-Bout at a time. Traffic will flow will be temporary routed around the opposite side of the Round-A-Bout under Flagger control.
Once cooled, the traffic will be re-routed back onto the binder course and the other ½ of the Round-A-Bout will get its binder coat installed.
Traffic will then be re-routed to perform the final course on the binder coat starting at Chester St. continuing through to Jefferson Ave. heading east. Once cooled, the traffic will be re-routed to the completed ½ of the Round-A-Bout and the final course will be applied to the other side of the ½ of the Round-A-Bout. Normal Round-A-Bout movements would continue after the completed paving. Although, the following week, there will be some interruptions of traffic as construction vehicles and personnel perform the sidewalk work, splitter island work and center feature work in the upcoming weeks.
Then on Thursday August 31 and September 1, A&J will be performing the final course onto Jefferson Ave. between the Cemetery’s. All paving should be completed by the close of business on Friday September 1. NOTE: This all based on good weather!
